About Us

Awareness and appreciation of children's needs

My name is Alanna Kearney and I am an Accredited Play Therapist. I obtained a post graduate diploma with The Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy affiliated to the National University Of Galway.

Previous to this I have completed various other studies such as psychology and childcare. I trained within the field of psychiatric nursing which then led onto studying C.B.T. I attended all relevant training courses in first aid, child protection, non-violent intervention, confronting bullying, mindfulness and much more. Having worked with children for more than twenty years, I have had the privilege of working with various organisations inclusive of child welfare agencies, hospitals, schools and institutional facilities.

Our therapy

Children don't say "I had a hard day, can we talk?"

Recent research suggests Play Therapy is an effective tool to reach the child within a trusting, non-judgemental and safe relationship with their play therapist

Play Therapy works best when a parent, family member, or caretaker is actively involved in the treatment process.

Play Therapy is a way of ‘being’ with the child that honours their unique developmental level and looks for ways of helping in the “language” of the child. Whether that is through the medium of art, silence, or play.
